East Lyme Fire Service Chief William Bundy says a construction worker is in critical condition after becoming entrapped by concrete barriers Thursday morning.
Around 10 a.m. he says a construction accident was reported in the area of New Frontage Road.
“Following extrication from the incident site by emergency personnel, the victim a 54-year-old male was treated on scene for serious injuries and transported to L&M Hospital where he is listed in critical condition,” Bundy said.
Aid was provided by East Lyme Ambulance, East Lyme Police and Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
According to Bundy, no other injuries were reported and OSHA is investigating the incident.
That is all the information at this time.
