Plainfield police found hundreds of child pornography images on a resident’s devices after an investigation started in December 2025.
They say the investigation started after Predator Poachers, an organization out of Texas, posed as a minor online and found the 49-year-old man attempting to make contact.
“During the course of the investigation, the Plainfield Police Department obtained numerous search and seizure warrants, which were authorized by the State of Connecticut Superior Court in Danielson,” police said.
Investigators took several devices from the man and sent them to the Connecticut State Police Forensic Laboratory to examine and, according to police, hundreds of images involving child sex abuse materials were found.
“The forensic analysis resulted in the recovery of hundreds of images and videos depicting child sexual abuse material (CSAM), as well as additional child exploitative and computer-generated (CGI/animated) child sexual exploitation material,” they said.
The man was charged with first-degree illegal possession of child pornography and criminal attempt/enticing a minor under the age of 13.
He is set to be in court and held on a surety-bond of $150,000.
