1 dead, 1 injured after shooting in Norwich
Norwich police are investigating after one person was found dead and another was injured from gunshot wounds Friday afternoon.
Norwich police got several 911 calls just before noon reporting a “disturbance involving gunfire,” according to officials.
Officers found a vehicle suspected of being involved on Maennerchor Avenue. Inside the vehicle were two adults suffering from gunshot wounds, according to officials.
One of the people inside was pronounced dead from their injuries while another was taken to a nearby hospital. Police have not identified anyone at this time, and the condition of the person taken to the hospital is not known.
Officials said that investigators have made contact with “all involved parties” and there is no ongoing safety threat.
