
Police have arrested the former PTO treasurer at a Wallingford elmentary school after thousands of dollars disappeared.
Police began an investigation in May after about $22,000 in funds for the Highland Elemntary School PTO could not be accounted for.
On Friday, police arrested 39-year-old Erica Vitale. She was the PTO treasurer with full access to the funds and could not provide receipts or bank statments to account foe the money, according to police.
Vitale is charged with first-degree larceny and fraudulent use of an automated teller machine.
She was held on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to be in court on Aug. 4.
