A 35-year-old motorcyclist is in critical condition after a crash on Grand Avenue in New Haven on Sunday night, New Haven police said.
The New Haven Police Department was called to the 500 block of Grand Avenue around 11:40 p.m. When they arrived, they found the man, who is from Bridgeport, with serious injuries. He is in critical condition.
Police previously said the man died in the crash, but that was incorrect.
The man was riding his motorcycle and traveling west near the intersection with East Street when he lost control and crashed, police said.
It was not immediately clear how the crash happened.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, but police said the motorcyclist was traveling in a group with several other motorcyclists.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has any information is asked to call detectives at 203-946-6304 or use the department’s anonymous tip line at 866-888-TIPS (8477).
