An electrifying culmination of artistry, ambition, and discovery. The Heida Hermanns International Music Competition returns for its final round—an evening where brilliance meets possibility, and the next generation of pianists steps decisively into the spotlight.

Chosen from a global pool of exceptional talent, three finalists will each command the stage in a 45-minute program of striking range and virtuosity, traversing five centuries of piano repertoire. These performances are more than recitals—they are personal statements, revealing each artist’s voice, vision, and interpretive depth at a defining moment in their careers.

At the heart of the Heida is a bold commitment to living music. In this rare and compelling tradition, each finalist will premiere a newly commissioned work, bringing a world debut to life before a live audience. The 2026 competition features a new commission by acclaimed composer Samuel Adams, continuing a legacy of premieres by leading voices such as Lowell Liebermann and Timo Andres.

Set within the vibrant, contemporary setting of MoCA\CT, this is not simply a competition—it is a high-stakes, one-night-only encounter with the future of classical music.
