The West Hartford Fire Department says Blue Plate Kitchen is closed after they responded to a fire Sunday morning.
They say after investigating a small fire was found in a storage closet and there was smoke throughout the restaurant.
According to officials, the sprinklers extinguished most of the fire but Float 41, a neighboring business, was also affected.
“The West Hartford Fire Department reminds businesses and property owners that properly maintained automatic sprinkler systems play a critical role in controlling fires, limiting property damage, and protecting occupants until firefighters arrive,” fire officials say.
The investigation is still ongoing and that is all the information at this time.
The West Hartford Fire Department, the West Hartford Police Department, West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District and the West Hartford Building Department responded to the scene. UConn Health Center Fire provided station coverage during the incident.
